Pipeline Partners

The role of pipeline partners in the consortium varies by type of institution. 
 

Two-Year Institutions

Students from two-year institutions majoring in BUILD-related areas are eligible to apply for the BUILDing SCHOLARS Scholarship (as transfer students to UTEP) and to the Summer Research Program.

Faculty members from two-year institutions specializing in BUILD-related areas are eligible to apply to the Supermentor Program (as mentees), as well as to the Summer Sabbatical Program, to re-thread themselves into new research areas and/or establish collaborations with faculty at research partner institutions. They are also eligible to apply to the Seed Funding Program.

Additional enrichment opportunities will be available to faculty and students from these institutions throughout the academic year and summer via special workshops, symposia and other events.

Four-Year Institutions

NM-INBRE Affiliated Institutions

The New Mexico IDeA of Biomedical Research Excellence (NM-INBRE), partners with both two- and four-year colleges and universities in New Mexico to champion “biomedical and community based research excellence in the state of New Mexico through the development of innovative, supportive and sustainable research environments for faculty and students, community engaging health initiatives, while building a network of lead scientist and educators at the state, regional and national level.”  

Students from all NM-INBRE affiliated institutions majoring in BUILD-related areas are eligible to apply for the Summer Research Program. Students from two-year NM-INBRE affiliated intuitions are also encouraged to apply for the BUILDing SCHOLARS Undergraduate Scholarship (as transfer students to UTEP).
