Application Requirements and Instructions
All applications must be submitted using the online application system. Only students who have no more than 60 completed credit hours by the following fall semester are eligible for the scholarship. We expect accuracy in all of the information and documents provided by the applicants. Any inaccurate information or false documents will disqualify the candidate from being selected as a scholarship recipient. Only complete applications (application form, transcripts, resume, and recommender's application) received by the deadline will be considered by the Scholarship Selection Committee.
Note: Students enrolled at an Early College High School (ECHS) or dual credit program are considered high school applicants. Transfer students are defined as students who have attended another college or university.
The name and email address of one person who can submit a recommendation on behalf of the applicant is required. This information will not be shared with anyone. A separate link will be sent to the applicant’s reference where they can submit a recommendation application once the applicant’s application is submitted.
This individual should know the applicant in a professional capacity. He/she should be able to speak to the applicant’s academic and research abilities; the applicant’s desire to become a research scientist in a biomedical field (e.g., addiction, cancer, neurodegenerative and chronic diseases, environmental health, health disparities, infectious diseases and translational biomedicine) upon graduating with a Ph.D.; and why he/she recommends the student for the scholarship.
