Application Requirements and Instructions
All applications must be submitted using the online application system. Only students who have no more than 60 completed credit hours by the following fall semester are eligible for the scholarship. We expect accuracy in all of the information and documents provided by the applicants. Any inaccurate information or false documents will disqualify the candidate from being selected as a scholarship recipient. Only complete applications (application form, transcripts, resume, and recommender's application) received by the deadline will be considered by the Scholarship Selection Committee.
Note: Current high school students in dual-credit programs are considered high school applicants. Transfer students are defined as students who have attended another college or university.
Unofficial transcripts from all previously attended colleges and universities are required. The transcripts must be uploaded onto the online application system. The transcripts should clearly show the name of the applicant, grade point average and credit hours earned.
A resume that showcases the applicant’s participation in extracurricular activities, volunteer service, and/or athletics and employment history are required to be uploaded onto the online application system.
This individual should be able to speak to the applicant’s academic abilities, their research ability and their desire to become a research scientist in a biomedical field (e.g., addiction, cancer, neurodegenerative and chronic diseases, environmental health, health disparities, infectious diseases and translational biomedicine) upon graduating with a Ph.D. or an M.D.-Ph.D.
Applicants who are selected as finalists will be contacted for personal interviews.
